Fortune is like glass -the brighter the glitter, the more easily broken. Publilius Syrus

Jessica Gispert’s work involves video, collage, and process-based sculptural installations that abstract both familiar and more traditional artist materials such as minerals, fabrics, jewelry, glitter, acrylic paints and acrylic mediums, plaster, among an array of found objects and images . Gispert’s process embraces physical struggle in arriving at structural form. The need to apply less concrete or haphazard methods to arrive at solidified concepts is rooted in her desire to problem solve both technically and emotionally.
